Hell Is Mighty Cold These Days

According to a recent poll:
Mr. Layton is also seen as the most charismatic of the four men. On a related question, 23 per cent said Mr. Layton is the leader they would most like to have dinner with, more than Mr. Harper and just below Mr. Martin.
As a right wing wackjob my opinion of the leaders my fellow citizens elect isn't very high.

Saddly though my faith in my fellow citizens has sunk to a new low. How in God's name could Paul Martin's hand puppet be considered to be the most charismatic of the four party leaders? He looks and talks like a used car salesman for Pete's sake!

Oh the humanity!

On having dinner with the four leaders, I'd vote for Layton as the one most likely to stick me with the bill.

… and PM the BM is the type that goes to the washroom just as the waiter arrives with the bill.

I am sitting here in deep southeast Georgia lamenting that the only hockey I got to watch this year the few AHL games that made it to TV down here and several minor B league games in a nearby city. It is all the worse because my Center Ice NHL season TV package went the way of the season - nowhere. Then I read about what is happening in Canada - how be Libs, NDP, and Tories have become even more rediculous than the Dems, and the lengths the Wirtz family goes to squeeze the last penny out of my beloved Blackhawks, and I understand - why the Dems, the Libs the players association, the team owners all seem totally intent on out-lemming the lemmings

As things stand right now, Layton comes across as the least angry of the leaders. Both Harper and Duceppe act like they'd bite your leg off if you make a proposal, and Martin keeps sounding like he'll pay you back if you just cover his bill now.

I've been saying that all along! Layton has that "used car salesman" vibe the days I watched him in the PM debates last year! Freaky!

As a general rule, I don't dine with politicians, let alone party leaders. I'd make an exception for Stronach, though. I'd take her out to dinner anytime.

Me too. She's hot. However, being a conservative, I don't think she would make a good leader.

The appropriate question is not "who do you want to share a meal with and have a nice little civilized chit-chat, stimulating discussion or witty repartee?" The question is "who do you want to be in a lifeboat with?" Anyone who would answer Layton or Martin is "out to lunch" with both of them.
